Management Accountant

headspace National Office is looking for an individual with relevant experience to perform its Management Accountant duties.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of budgetary and financial compliance procedures. This will include development and review of budgets, guidelines and resources to support contractual compliance of the headspace entity and related programs.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual external audit process
  • Manage all headspace tax matters
  • Supervise the Finance Officer and assist in their development
  • Manage cash flow and maximise investment income
  • Prepare and maintain internal headspace finance policies
  • Review and analyse headspace Centre financial reporting as per their Grant conditions

CA/CPA qualification with proven experience in a similar role, professional communication skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to multi task and meet deadlines are essential for the successful candidate.

Community Awareness Officer

headspace National Office is looking for a professional, enthusiastic and experienced Community Awareness Officer.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Community Relations, the Community Awareness Officer role will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a range of national social marketing strategies designed to raise awareness of youth mental health issues;
  • Building and maintaining positive partnerships with key stakeholders and working collaboratively to develop and implement agreed strategies;
  • Working with headspace centres located around Australia to assist in promoting and increasing awareness of headspace through campaign, event, product and partnership support and
  • Consulting with headspace stakeholders and young people on community awareness and health promotion initiatives and programs.

The successful applicant will have experience as a community awareness professional ideally within a government, agency or not-for-profit environment, plus:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, community development, marketing or related field;
  • Sound knowledge of current health issues affecting young people, and relevant government policy directions;
  • Demonstrated experience in health promotion practice and theory and demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of effective health promotion initiatives;
  • Knowledge and understanding of youth mental health and alcohol and other drug issues; and,
  • Experience with partnerships that span different sectors.

Project Administrative Officer


headspace National Office is looking for an individual with relevant administrative experience to assist within its clinical programs division.

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Programs, the newly created position of Project Administrative Officer will be responsible for ensuring that business and administrative systems and processes are in place to enable the headspace Clinical programs to deliver their services in an efficient, effective and coordinated way.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and implement efficient systems and accurate reporting models.
  • Develop appropriate project plans and assist in meeting these deliverables.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and expenditure.
  • Contribute to the development of business practices, policies and procedures.
  • Identify, establish and review the business solutions available for complex communications and training programs for a national program.
  • Process travel requests for headspace Clinical Program staff.
  • Assist in preparation for accreditation and compliance across all clinical programs.
  • Various other administrative functions such as maintenance of databases, attendance records, processing of contracts, invoices and setting up of accounts in line with headspace Policies and Procedures.

Proven experience in a similar fast paced environment assisting with the coordination of projects, events and senior administrative functions are essential for this role along with professional communication skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to multi task and meet deadlines.

headspace ACT


Private Practitioner

headspace ACT is a youth mental health service for young people aged 12-25 and their families to work with emerging mental health and associated alcohol and other drug issues. Clients are offered free or low-cost care in a youth-friendly environment.  headspace provides an integrated service, linking existing medical, community and clinical services to ensure young people receive the help they need.

headspace ACT has availability for a private practitioner to join our team part time. This is not a salaried position. Available hours are Wednesdays 11.30am - 5pm, Thursdays 9.30am - 7pm, and Fridays 12 - 5pm.

Are you… ?

  • A registered psychologist, social worker, or occupational therapist?
  • Passionate about young people accessing youth-friendly early intervention allied health care?

Credentialed Mental Health Nurse

Central Coast is expanding and refurbishing seven new youth friendly consultation rooms for Private Allied Health Professionals. Work as a Private Practitioner to deliver a co-operative, multi-disciplinary model of care for headspace Central Coast, and work closely with headspace colleagues and collocated service partners to maximise opportunities to identify innovative, co-ordinated solutions for individual clients.

You must have experience in engaging with young people 12-24 years and offering focused psychological interventions. Hold all relevant current licences, registrations and memberships for legal practice as a qualified and registered professional within the state of New South Wales.  You need to hold a Medicare Provider Number issued by Medicare Australia and be registered with Medicare.
