How do I make a referral to headspace ACT?
There are many ways to access headspace ACT yourself or support someone in doing so.
Self referral
If you want to refer yourself just phone 6201 5343 or email headspaceACT@canberra.edu.au
and we will contact you to make an appointment. Please be
aware that this email account is only checked during business hours
so if you need urgent help call the Crisis, Assessment and
Treatment Team on 1800 629 354 or Lifeline 13 1114.
Family referral
Families, carers or friends can refer a young person to
headspace ACT. The young person needs to be
aware of the referral and be willing to meet with a
headspace ACT Youth Worker. To make a
referral on behalf of a young person please phone 6201 5343 or
email headspaceACT@canberra.edu.au
and we will contact the young person to make an appointment.
Agency or school referral
Young people can be referred to headspace ACT
by schools, health or community workers. Referrals must be
received in writing on the headspace ACT referral
form and can be hand delivered or posted to Room 12B40, University
of Canberra, ACT 2601, faxed to 6201 5666 or emailed to headspaceACT@canberra.edu.au
Referrals should include as much information as possible and be
undertaken with the consent of the young person.

General Practitioner referral
General Practitioners should include a mental health care plan
for the young person and attach this to the GP referral form. The
referral form and mental health care plan can be hand delivered or
posted to Room 12B40, University of Canberra, ACT 2601, faxed to
6201 5666 or emailed to headspaceACT@canberra.edu.au.
Referrals should include as much information as possible and be
undertaken with the consent of the young person.
