The AWESOME Youth Advisory Group
From the very beginning, headspace Central Australia (hCA) recognises that the most important ingredient in making headspace a welcoming and relevant place for young people to go - IS YOU - the young people of Alice Springs.
You will be using this service, or recommending a friend/family
member to go....SO....we are committed, in any way possible, to
listening to and acting upon your knowledge, wisdom, expertise and
experiences - especially in ways that help us to break down the
stigma of mental health discussions so that we can acknowledge how
common it actually is, recognise the signs and symptoms within
ourselves and our mates/brothers/sisters/family, and know what we
can do and where we can go once we have.
The Community Contact at hCA is Natalie Colmer, and she would
love to hear from anyone that has any ideas and wisdoms around
these themes - and if you see her in the street or at your school
or workplace, please feel free to stop her and have a yarn and
share your ideas. Otherwise you could call her on 8958 4541 or
e-mail her at natalie.colmer@caac.org.au
Until then, keep an eye and an ear out for the amazing YAG and
see what community activity they are involved in!
