Mental Health
If your headspace is in a bit of a puzzle you may need some help to sort out all the pieces
The Department of Health and Ageing has a new initiative that
gives you the keys to access psychologist, occupational therapists,
psychiatrists, youth workers and group therapy for no charge to you
- all that you need is a current Medicare card.
There are two government schemes currently running to help fund
these services - The Better Access Scheme through Medicare requires
your doctor to write a Mental Health Care Plan which allows you to
get up to 12 sessions with an Allied Health Professional. The
Better Outcomes Scheme Provides similar access to Allied Health
Professionals, but is run through the Division of General
Practice.
