Intake Workers
In order to provide the best possible service to young people,
headspace has a team of Youth Intake workers who
are the first point of contact.
What does an intake worker do?
The job of the intake worker is to welcome young people to
headspace and have a conversation about how
headspace can help. After the initial intake
meeting, we can then work out what the best possible
service/program/activity is.
Youth Mental Health Project
If you think you are currently experiencing a mental illness the
Hunter New England Area Health Service provide
assessments for their Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
for young people who access Hunter headspace.
Adolescent Family Counsellor
Jess, our Adolescent and Family Counsellor can provide
counselling support to you if you are experiencing difficulties in
your relationships with family, friends and partners including
family therapy.

program is for you! Ang can help you with advocating with other
services (like housing and Centrelink), purchasing items for you
and your bub, or you can come along to one of her supported
playgroups: a great place to meet and socialise with other young
parents!
Youth Development Officer
James is our resident Youth Development Officer. The primary purpose
of his role is to focus on community development activities that
will assist young people to access community resources and
activities. If you have something to say about where you live, your
local shopping centre, your school or some other youth issue or you
are interested in starting a project or having a say
then James can provide information and support!
