youth participation
'Project Headstart'
You can join the Peninsula headspace youth
advisory group 'Project Headstart'. We are looking for young people
from the Frankston & Mornington Peninsula regions who are aged
12-25 who:
- Have had their own experience of feeling depressed, anxious,
substance use or other mental health issues, &/or
- Have a family member who has/had a mental illness or substance
use problem &/or
- Has an interest in mental health and youth wellbeing
By getting involved, you will have the opportunity to:
- Have a say in how our youth health service is run
- Help educate other young people about the issues that affect
them
- Develop new skills & do fun activities
- Meet & work with other young people who share your passion
about youth health & wellbeing issues.
For more information about joining Project Headstart, you can download the application form or call 9769
6419. The group meets fortnightly on Thursday evenings.
You can also 'get involved' in other ways that don't require as
much commitment or time - for example, by producing art work or
poetry for display inside the centre, or by helping out at a
one-off event. Please contact Heather on 9769 6419 for details
about current opportunities.
