Welcome to Riverina headspace!
headspace centres have been established to
better meet the needs of young people with emerging mental health
issues - the single biggest health issue facing young Australians
today.
Riverina headspace is one of 30 centres
that can be found across Australia. We are a youth
specific service: that means, anyone between the ages of 12-25 can
see us, free of charge. Our base is located in Wagga Wagga, however
we outreach from locations in Temora, Tumut, Cootamundra and
Junee.
At Riverina headspace you can receive support
from a range of professionals including youth workers,
psychologists, social workers, alcohol and other drug workers,
dietician, sexual health nurse or general practitioner
(doctor). These workers are skilled in listening to young
people and can help you identify problems, goals and achieve
creative solutions to issues.
Why would I come to Riverina headspace?
If you or someone you know would like to talk in a safe and
confidential environment, this is the place for you. People
come to headspace for many reasons. Here are just
a few:
- Because they are feeling down, depressed or anxious
- They are not coping at school, home, uni or work
- Having family or relationship issues
- Not sleeping well
- Not eating well
- Finding it hard to concentrate or be motivated
- Being bullied or hurt by others
- Having trouble managing anger
- Experiencing grief and loss
- Worried about their drinking or drug use
- Have noticed 'something's not quite right'

We will have a chat to you about what you need and how we can

Please note the above contacts are available Monday to
Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you are in need of urgent help, or
are looking to help a friend outside these hours, please call
Accessline on 1800 800 944. This number is
available 24 hours per day and is not linked to
headspace.
Expert help will be provided if you have a mental health or
substance use problem that is having an impact on your life or
others around you. Your care is coordinated through
headspace, making sure all your care needs are
taken into consideration.
Cost: Free of charge with a Medicare card or
Medicare number.
