do you do counselling?
It's great that you are looking into counselling options.
We know that getting help and getting it early can make a real
difference to how people feel. Sometimes it can be a big decision
to try and find counselling, and even scary to make that first call
or appointment. headspace aims to support young people to
find help that is right for their needs. There are a couple
of ways that headspace offers counselling.
Firstly, you can drop into a headspace centre - check out which
one is your closest here: http://www.headspace.org.au/headspace-centres.
headspace has a range of different health professionals working at
centres. If headspace isn't the right place for you, they
should be able to point you in the right direction. Even once
you have made the big decision to get help - be aware that
sometimes it can take a little while to find the right person or
place for you.
Another alternative is talking to headspace clinicians
online. Young people and their family and friends can log on
to web chat or email mental health professionals like psychologists
and social workers. Check out www.eheadspace.org.au if
you're interested.
If at any time you feel like you would like some immediate
support you can contact Kids Help Line Phone 1800 55 1800 (http://www.kidshelp.com.au)
or Lifeline: Phone 13 11 14 (http://www.lifeline.org.au).
It can be a difficult thing to seek help, so congrats on taking
this first step!
