headspace Central Coast  - Partnering with the Central Coast community

headspace Central Coast has been busy building local partnerships and conducting a range of community awareness activities to engage young people on the Central Coast of NSW.

headspace Central Coast is located at ycentral (a collocated Youth Mental Health site), in the Gosford CBD, and has recently commenced their Community Awareness Campaign by initiating the following major activities:
 

• In partnership with Greater Union, participating in the long weekend Movie Marathon to help promote movie marathons as a safe healthy environment for young people.  On the night, headspace youth alliance consultants chatted and handed out promotional items to the 500+ young people who attended.
• Building relationships with radio stations Sea FM and 2GO, #1 on the Central Coast, involving DJ Delicious and the Central Coast Mariners.
• Participated in a Health Expo for NAIDOC Week at Gosford Showgrounds where 3000 people attended. This providing a great opportunity to promote headspace services to the local indigenous community.
• Participated in the Safe Celebrating Community Forum at Regional Youth Support Services providing service information to the families and friends of young people and service providers.
• Partnered with the Central Coast Youth in Performing Arts Concert, sponsoring a young local performer and promoting headspace Central Coast at the 5 night event attended by 800 people.

By working with local partners and participating in community events headspace Central Coast is profiling their service and engaging young people and their families. headspace Central Coast has also developed a Community Awareness plan with a range of other activities for the next 12 months.
