As a mother of a daughter with severe depression and psychotic symptoms, I was at a loss to help her ...

The local GP told me years later that he thought there was 'something wrong but couldn't put his finger on it', but made no effort to find out or refer her to someone who could. She suffered all the symptoms you have listed on your page. As a result, my daughter had no help, no treatment (as a youth) and suffered a lot of harsh treatment by the police and the mental health system. When she finally "snapped" it was far too late for "help" because she didn't trust anyone at all, she hated the "system" and I don't blame her for that. She left her children and ran away. She is intelligent attractive and now in her mid 30s, too old for your group. I wish I had known about your group. Young people deserve to be treated with respect.

PLEASE ENSURE GPs KNOW ABOUT YOUR SERVICE.

I am aware that my daughter's illness may be an inherited one and have already instigated intervention for my grandchildren. I only hope that they never suffer as their mother did/still does.
