Flourish Australia is seeking a motivated and passionate Practice Manager to provide business support services to the centre and centre staff at headspace Broken Hill.
The position is part-time (0.4 FTE) working Monday-Friday and is classified HPPS Level 7.
About the Opportunity
Flourish Australia has collaborated with the other local services to form headspace in Broken Hill. headspace Broken Hill is based on a commitment by all agencies involved to work in partnership to improve outcomes for young people aged 12-25 years (and their families) affected by mental health and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues. The shared principles of a person-centred, community orientated approach delivers sensitive, accessible and quality services for the target group.
In this role you will be responsible for providing a broad range of practice management and administrative support functions for the headspace Broken Hill team.
To be considered, you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably within the community services sector. In addition, you must be proficient in Medicare billing processes.
You will be a highly organised person with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as good problem solving skills and the ability to work in challenging situations. You will also be able to demonstrate a practical and optimistic approach, the ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently, and have strong computer literacy skills.
Contact with young people who are often in crisis is fundamental to this role so it is essential that you have a high level of emotional intelligence and are comfortable working around children and youth.

One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the past 12 months – a higher prevalence than all other age groups. Alarmingly, suicide is the leading cause of death of young people, accounting for one third of all deaths. headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

headspace Broken Hill will provide young people with the opportunity to seek help early. headspace Broken Hill brings together local health services under the one roof making it easier for young people and their families to find the information and support they need. Please note that this position is employed by Flourish Australia who is the lead agency for headspace Broken Hill.
