headspace day 2017

We’re excited to announce that today is headspace day, our national day of awareness for youth mental health.

With 1 in 4 young Australians experiencing mental health issues, headspace day provides an opportunity to educate young people on the importance of taking care of their mental health.

Today, there will be politicians, sports people, celebrities and thousands of Australians nationwide sharing their personal tips on how they maintain a healthy headspace.

The aim is to generate thousands of ideas, so we please get involved by sharing your tip on how you take care of your mental wellbeing.

Our headspace day TV commercial airs today and will run nationally during mental health week. The ad features young people from various headspace centres, as well as a few famous sports stars, who all share their own personal tips on what they do to get in a healthy headspace.

What’s happening on headspace day?

A national event for headspace day is being held out the front of the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne from 11am – 1pm. The event is being emceed by Fox FM and there will be plenty of fun activities, including a giant wall to write your healthy headspace messages on. So if you’re in Melbourne then come along and be part of the celebration.

headspace centres around Australia will also be holding local events to celebrate headspace day. So check in with your local centre to see what’s happening in your community and join the fun!

It’s easy to get involved - all you need to do is:
  1. Go to headspaceday.org.au and download a headspace day placard.
  2. Write your personal mental health tip on the placard and hold it up in a photo. Then share this on all your social media channels using #headspaceday
