Northern Tasmania

headspace Northern Tasmania is a youth friendly, community based health service for young people aged 12 – 25 and their families. It is a place where young people can receive help for a range of issues including health, education, work, mental health and drug and alcohol use. We are staffed by GP’s, Counsellors, Psychologists, Social Workers, Youth Workers and Drug & Alcohol workers who have specific expertise in working with young people.

We are a confidential and free service to young people in Northern Tasmania with our main office in Launceston at the Cnr Brisbane and Wellington Street (formerly known as The Corner Youth Health Centre).

 

headspace Northern Tasmania staff also provide an outreach service to places in Northern Tasmania including the East Coast, George Town, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, Flinders Island, West Tamar and Dorset Council areas.

 

Our Doctors service is available at the following times:

Monday 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Tuesday - Friday 9am - 12noon

Please call to make an appointment. We have limited spaces on the day for crisis appointments. If it is an emergency please contact the Launceston General Hospital Department of Emergency on Ph.  6348 7111

 

Counselling and general health support is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. It is recommended to call ahead to make appointments, however you are welcome to just drop in as there is always someone available on the day to talk with. Referrals from agencies can be received by faxing or emailing our referral form to us. Click here for our agency referral form
